THE HISTORY OF AFRICAN AMERICAN BALLERINAS

CHECK OUT OUR HISTORIAN BLOG!!

I am the "Beam of Light" that will spotlight and pay homage to the many amazing women trailblazers of our ballerina history.  Their cultural differences and struggles just to be present on stage are REAL and so captivating that you too will be inspired by their journey.   Our past history is just as important as our future.  Oftentimes as we progress and move forward, the obstacles faced and identity of our pioneers somehow gets lost or forgotten.  Whose shoulders are all African American ballerinas of today STANDING ON?  In my HISTORIAN BLOG I will showcase a phenomenal former ballerina every month chronicling their informative and inspirational journey through racism, challenges, obstacles & exclusion.  Attempting to depict their unequal and unjust opportunities while trying to level the playing field in the overwhelmingly white world of ballet.  Let us celebrate the pioneers who have shaped our dance heritage and whom have set the barre standards that we aspire.  Just as we can learn and explore the fascinating HISTORY, let it remind us to Journal Our Journey for the FUTURE.

Will you become HISTORY?

I AM JOURNALING THEIR JOURNEY!!!
